The Smile of Satisfaction and the Baskets of Bounty
Nothing is as rewarding as bringing in your first produce that you have grown yourself. I have done gardens for years but this is my son’s first garden. I no longer can do them. He has worked so hard, down on his knees, babying plants in soils that is the worst soil I have ever seen and full of rocks.
He planted, he hoed, he weeded, he went out three times a day and he watered and he waited for that first bloom and then that first vegetable to start growing. He would come in with excitement to tell me and take the camera and bring me pictures.
Today, was a day of bringing in baskets of vegetables with a smile on his face like you would not believe. He brought in green peppers, radishes and greens, zucchini, yellow squash, green beans…oh was it a day of joy for him.
Below are pictures of our miracle garden in the desert of dirt. I hope you enjoy.
