Lessons We Learn From Life
Life is what we make it and what we accept for ourselves. Sometimes we seem to struggle with the same problem over and over and over and wonder why. It seems to be like a boomerang and circle around and land in our laps again.
“One thing I know for sure is that if you struggle with any situation, but never learn the underlying lesson, it will come back to you again and again until you learn it.” ~LessonslearnedinLife

Sometimes I say I am a slow learner but it is really stubbornness and my unwillingness to listen to what is inside my heart that makes learning life’s lessons so hard at times. I was the child that if you told me the stove was hot, not to touch it…I had to test it to see if you were telling me the truth. And so I got burned. Life is like that. Sometimes others have been the route before us and really do know a better way. I remember wondering why my sons would not listen to me telling them that this or that was going to be bad for them and then remembered….I did the same thing.
I think it is when we become older and sage that we finally learn to listen to that little voice inside us. Sometimes the voice has to roar too before we hear it. The important thing is that we learn how to listen to that voice inside and believe in ourselves that we can do.

One of the things that I have really learned is that those that are important…those we love …we need to show them every day. Sometimes life can get so complicated that we find ourselves losing track of time and of our loved ones and one day it can be too late and they will be gone. I remember my dear friend Audrey telling me that we make time for what we really want in life and that includes people. I wish so many times I could go back and take more time with those I love because some of them disappeared on me and it happened while I was so busy that they were gone and I did not even realize it…….a lesson that came back over and over until I finally got it. Life is all a choice..just sometimes we do not pay attention to the choices we are making.

One of the many lessons to learn in life is that we make our own happiness…it is our choice. We can not expect others to be the ones to make us laugh and be happy. We have to choose to do that. That is part of the job description for life to get up every day, choose to be happy, choose to make each day as full as we possibly can, choose to let go of the negativity and the past and hold on to the present and look to the future and choose to love with all our hearts, even when love is not given back for we are blessing others with our love. We can choose to make each day the best it can possibly be or we can choose to sit on the sidelines waiting on someone to do it for us.

And today, I choose to make this a good day in spite of the trip to Pueblo and the visit with the surgeon. I choose to see the beauty in the day and the love around me and to keep my focus on the positive. And I choose to be thankful for those that are helping make these trips possible. Thank you.
