The Versatile Blogger Award and The TMI Award

I’ve been nominated again for the Versatile Blogger Award by hurtorheal. I hope you will go check out her blog. And I was awarded the TMI award by Gabriela. I hope you will check out her blog too.

I am always so touched when someone nominates me for an award for I feel that there is no higher honor than to have someone who is a writing peer think my blog is worthy of an award. And to get two in one day is awesome. Thank you so much.

I love that this award  is for those blogs that discuss everything in detail and do it well. These bloggers aren’t afraid to discuss even the most awkward, embarrassing, and intimate experiences with honesty, humour, and little to no filter. Now that is me. I go where no man has been before. 🙂 And I am not afraid to talk about the hard subjects with total honesty. So, this is cool. 🙂

Ok 7 things about me you don’t know. Hmmm this is getting harder for you all know me pretty well by now. Ok..here goes. 1. My son and I have this joke when we try a new recipe that does not work. We call it the “garbage Can Trophy”. 2. I can’t drink just plain water. Half my throat is numb and I choke on it so I must have at least lemon in water. 3. I don’t like the total dark. I tell everyone I leave night lights on for Jack. 🙂 4. I once shaved off my eyebrow when I was little. It was right at Halloween so who needed a costume. 5. I used to believe elves lived in the base of trees and would leave cookies for them. 6. I loved Nancy Drew and the Bobbsy Twins when I was little. 7. I do my best typing flat on my back and tummy typing.

And for the TMI Award…hmmm one of my most embarrassing moments. Well, it was like this. I was with my siblings and my mother in a fancy department store. We had just walked in and I was leaning over looking at some jewelry on a table. It had a mannequin leaning against the table…or so I thought. Well, said mannequin suddenly started to walk off. I, thinking I had knocked the mannequin over, lunged and grabbed him around the waist. You can imagine my embarrassment when I discovered that this mannequin was a real person. When I realized this, I released my hold and looked up at him and said “Oh, I am so sorry…I thought you were a dummy.” And when I looked around, my mother and siblings had all left me there.

Now for my nominees:

And for the TMI Award…because I think it is important and not frivolous, I am awarding this to one person in particular that I think is willing to talk about all topics no matter what they are…how embarassing they might be… in an open and honest way…even the controversial. And that person is:

  2. Congratulations for receiving the awards, and Thank you for nminating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. It is such an honor, and I really appreciate it. Cheers!

  3. Awards, honors and a “TMI” award… hugging a manniqun/dummy just had me lauging til’ I cried! Our friend Jueseppi will be thrilled with the TMI award I just know it, as he tells it like it is, and many will at times feel it is just toooo much info, but info that needs to be told!
As for the sardonic reply? Well yes, a simple and gracious thanks would have sufficed… I still cannot understand that one and found it to be a bit rude… but then again, opionions however intended are what make the world go round I suppose.
Congrats friend, and I will tell you this: “your writing is an inspiration, filled with a glass that is overflowing and real as real gets, during the brightest of suns, the scariest of thunder and lightning you stand strong with forearm crutches blazing a trail that most would run from” and I am honored with each read, to call you friend! Write on, and soar on as the Eagle… Congrats and all the best to the best!

  4. Don’t be rattled….relax and take a deep breath RacyRed. You are a woman I respect and have grown very fond of. Your kindness and warmth are stunningly magnificent. You make a difference in my world. Thank you. I shall post and pass on this T.M.I. award and accept it with much honor.

  5. Congratulations Deb, on a well-deserved award! And thank you so much for thinking of me as well; I’m thrilled and honored to be nominated. ~ Julie 🙂

  6. First of all, thank you. Second, to the person who posted the sardonic reply to receiving awards in general—why doesn’t she put on her home page that she doesn’t accept awards? Or maybe she does. I read her link. What came to mind? I could hear my mom say—“a simple thank you will suffice”….no need to make fun of others who enjoy receiving and giving awards…so Thank you. I will pass it on when I can….I am getting behind again!

  7. Thanks so much, and Congratulations to you!! I have to ask, though — your comment to me said Versatile Blogger Award, but at the top of the list, you wrote Kreativ Blogger. May I assume the VBA was the one you intended? Regardless of which award, I am honored and flattered to receive this award, and I will pingback to you in my post. 😎

  8. Thanks so much for nominating me for the Versatile/Kreative Blogger award. I’m delighted and honored! Keep up what you do and don’t lose that great sense of humor!

    With all best wishes,
    Joana

    • thank you for your honesty. I have removed you from the list. No, I was not impressed with your older blog on awards but that is your opinion. I find it an honor that peers..who may be the ones that read what I get paid for..think something I write is good. At over 20,000 views in less than a year, I do not need awards to get increases in my blog. It is increased by what I write. I apologize for having bothered you with the award and have removed your name and will award someone else. thanks

      • Not bothered, always nice to have someone think of you. Congrats for the success of your blog.
p.s. sorry about the mannequin incident, but the silver lining is that now we get to enjoy it…

      • thanks. I learned a long time ago to laugh at myself and not take myself so seriously. Glad you enjoyed it. Your blog post about the Versatile Blogger award did not offend me. I figure if we were to ask famous people, they would tell you never ever turn down or denigrate what someone gives you as an honor for others will see and you may never get offered again
