I love this story and my friend Sherry sent it to me after reading my earlier blog. The old Cherokee story has a lot of value to it. Which wolf will you feed?
Sometimes the two wolves are like this inside us…good fighting wrong.

A Cherokee Legend
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
When we feed the right wolf…they are in harmony.

I have read the story many times never often enough as it really says it well. I know we want to do good but the other is so tempting too. Ty
Exactly dar. life is a continuous battle and hopefully we feed the good wolf most of the time. 🙂
Very true, whichever nature we feed the most, that is the one we become! My great grandmother would have love to read this one…great message!
thank you Wendall. One of my favorite stories.

Love this story. Amazing how many old stories are still relevant today.
thanks. Yes I love this story. IT is so true. We constantly battle good vs evil every day. Most the time the good wins. LOL
I posted this a few weeks ago in my blog. It does speak for it’s self.
It sure does. I love it.
I’ve seen this story several times lately. I use it to teach my church class about “feeding the flesh”. It is powerful indeed. Angie
this story says it all to me. Yes sometimes we battle inside to do what is right but doing the right will bring a peace like none other. When we opt to do what we know is wrong, we have fed the wrong wolf and one day our actions will devour us.
Someone told me this story a long time ago… really sticks with you! Thanks for reminding me:)
