Good evening everyone. First let me say that the next few blogs will be about Standing Rock and the brutality going on there. I am passionate about supporting them and using my blog since my posts seem to be hidden on Facebook. My Facebook is Dani Deb Oliver and I hope people will go and look and see if they see the posts on Standing Rock as that is all I have been posting for a good while now with all the info. I used to get responses from people I did not know as I am posting it all public but now I see nothing even when I ask people to like to let me know they got the info. I have no claim to any of the links or videos made. I am just sharing them for public information.
This is what it looks like in Standing Rock. I thought at first this was a picture from Iraq.
I have spent all day getting all the links ready to share with you all. I am just appalled at what has gone on. And now I learn that a mercenary group has been pulled in to fight the Indigenous people. And our government does nothing. The Army Corps has just notified the leaders of the Indigenous people that they are closing the area off and it will no longer be public and moving them back inland. So, in other words they will not be near the water and the pipeline company can go ahead and drill. Here is the map. Click on the link to see it.
Dapl moves pipeline south to avoid white populations. The Indigenous Peoples are always being taken advantage of. The so called Law enforcement has called them the scum of the earth. Sound like a politician we know calling the other side deplorable?
It has been a long day so I am going to put some more video links on here so you can see the truth of what has been happening. Please stand by Standing Rock.
update on the drilling
Dakota Access Pipeline continues..wow videos
I was very impressed with this new music video. To me it is a sort of modern rendition of “if I could turn back time” and make it all go away song…… awesome effects and video.

Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers, whether you are a mother of children, a mother who has lost her child, an aunt or person who acts as a mother to someone, a mother with children still here, a father who must be both mother and father or someone who is a “mother” to her four leggeds or pets. I pray your day is very special and that you know how much you are loved.

And this is a special video I saw that goes to show that no matter the language, a love for a mother comes through. This little boy lost his mother when he was 8 and he is singing about her now. They are talking at first as it is China Has Talent show, so you may want to move the bar over til the music starts. This one has English subtitles.

♫♫I have always believed that music was a gift of life. My son would swear that I had music notes instead of blood cells in my blood. I use music to deal with pain, to lift my spirits, to inspire me to move a little more than I think I can each day. ♫♫♫
♫♫Thanks to Ann, who sent me this link for this video shows the power of music on people. It is powerful. It evokes wonderful memories if it is music we grew up with or music that was special to us. I love music from the fifties and sixties because the songs really mean something to me. Someone else may love music from the twenties or thirties or the nineties. It is all in what music triggers in us. ♫♫♫
♫♫♫You saw on an earlier post what music did for the 90 year old grandmother. See what it does for this man who didn’t even talk. When was the last time you played music and danced in your bed like me or in a chair or on the floor? When was the last time you let music fill your heart? ♫♫♫
Music has the power to bring a smile to our face, to bring tears to our eyes, to lift us up, to energize us, to distract us from pain….to open our hearts. Apply several times a day is my philosophy. 🙂 ♫♫♫

The past few days have been days of relying on inner strength and using the tools I know will help me through these days. Jack has kept close guard of his human mommy as he lays right beside my bed where he can tell when I move.
I have used every method I know to bring things into tolerance levels. Besides medication, I have used distraction. Oh one of my favorite ways to deal with pain. I use movies, books, writing…whatever gets my mind focused somewhere else. While I may be aware it is still there, it makes it a more tolerable level and I keep myself focused on what I am doing.
We have done massage therapy, lotion, hot and cold, stretching, elevation, wrapping my legs from toes up to hips where I look like a half mummy. LOL I am a big believer in alternative methods of dealing with pain. The answer should not always be give me another pill.

Another one of my favorite ways to deal is with my mental library and dreams. I danced across the skies last nite. I had to laugh because I think I am doing it all in my head but son said when he looked in, my feet were moving as if I were dancing. I have sung to the moon and anyone else that would listen. I donned my artist cap and painted great landscapes. The joy of doing things mentally is you can do whatever you want. I love it for if you allow your senses to open up, you can feel it.

One of my favorite mental library dreams is to soar with the Eagles. I can feel them…hear them as I lay on their feathered backs and feel the wind rush by me as I look down and see the lakes and woods and land below. I am extremely sensory and could smell the trees and the outdoors and feel the heat of the sun on my back as I flew across the universe. It just takes fine tuning your senses.

I have cooked great dinners as I flip food in pans that in actuality I can barely lift in real life. But, in my dreams, I am a master chef. I can chop, stir and fry with the best of them and ohh the aromas in my dreams that come from my kitchen.
I lay on the beach and feel the sun on my skin. Visualization is a wonderful tool for dealing with pain. You can visualize most anything. I actually do a visualization of my pain army. Little men in steel suits that march in and conquer the pain demons and march them out through my mouth as I do gentle breathing exercises of inhaling and blowing out like one blows a candle.

We are only inhibited by our own lack of imagination. Allow your senses to open. When you read words…even when not doing it for pain….feel the words. You don’t need big fancy words…just plain simple words evoke feelings that are amazing. When you read of the bumpy ride…feel it. When you read of the gentle rain falling on the face of someone…close your eyes and visualize the rain touching you in huge big splats. Bring your world alive. Even more important…bring your senses alive. Don’t just live life…FEEL life with all of your senses. And when you need an escape from pain or stress, try some of the visualization techniques for they can work.
So, turn on that music. Play a song that is full of life and energy and lay there on your bed and dance away. Move a little and feel that music…and let the pain take a back seat for a while. Come on…LET’S DANCE. 🙂

For us oldies, remember the sock hops after the ball games? Everyone in the gym with the teachers as chaparones?
Well, sit back, close your eyes as you listen to the music and see what memories it brings back. What a time of innocence and fun.
